Tim Ismag mixing
When Tim Ismag mixed his track “Club on Fire”, you have to assume that he was possessed by whatever deity that Dubstep composers kneel to. And, though I found some of the vocals to be a bit distracting, the break-beats that help us transition from movement to movement epitomize everything that has drawn so many into the electronic fold. Are there times when you feel that you’ve lost that metronome in your head during the track? Absolutely. However, this is ultimately one of the telling signs of a talented composer. We’ve seen the same technique used for centuries when symphonies would retard the pace just enough to leave you wondering who had just passed out in the horn section, only to burst back into the motive that gave you the sense of timing in the first place!
The use of the synth-organ again brings us back to dubstep deity chatter. For the life of me, I couldn’t get an image out of my head…and, at risk of pawning my own thoughts off on you, I will share it, as it was so powerful that I can see it even as I write this: the club is crackin’, yet everything is moving at half time. The lights are popping and suddenly you realized that stained glass windows are everywhere. The club is actually a church, and for everything that is holy, the patrons are enslaved to the beat. Worshipping it, if you will…
So, even as I write this, while idly sitting on an airplane destined for Los Angeles, CA, I hit repeat…then again…then again. Not because it’s my job, as I usually give a track one or two listens before reviewing. Instead, I do so because I am picking up things that continue to add color to my mental imagery. Mr. Ismag is a talented composer, and if you’re anything like me, you may find yourself wondering if we aren’t being secretly seduced by the dark side…

I’m not sure what the problem is, I am not a huge fan a this dark style, like it wouldn;t be in my set, but I can truly appreciate great production, which this has all over it. Something to rip your face off and that breakdown is ridiculous. Thumbs up for sure.

Have a little of Jazz, Chilled, Chillstep, Electro… I now have a couple of contacts in Reggae, Roots, even Classic. Not that I don’t want to upload anything other than Dubstep, I enjoy a bit of everything, but I already have a lot to manage and as I’m alone it’s hard for me to do everything but in a near future you’ll see much more than Dubstep mate, of course 😉

Wo Dude! Sounds amazing! Really like it. It doesn’t repeat too much maybe except for the vocal part, there’s two nice gabber uses and the breaks resync the groove as well. Nicely done!

If you’re going to dislike the song… At least tell me why so I can improve future uploads! I’d probably say it’s about the vocals but any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
