House / Techno DJ, Turntablist and producer “Katchmo”, Jay Mace’s artist name, is an avid music enthusiast and has been interested in “sound” from a very early age. He first started his music studies by learning guitar at age 9 and progressed to pass grade level 6 guitar studies whilst at high school.

He has now turned all of his time, focus and energy towards mixing and producing in various styles and genres of dance music. Katchmo has always been captivated by the underground sound that is totally fresh, raw and commercially untouched. You can clearly hear this within his mixes and productions, with inspiration from dj’s like Sasha, john digweed, sander-kleinenberg and techno gurus adam beyer, dave clarke and carl cox, he will be found compiling his sets with rolling beats and flowing sounds. He bought his first set of turntables at age 20 and has never looked back, playing at various clubs and nights such as Subtone, Dakota, thirteen, Blush, Qbars, Coco Lush and Bar Viva Ibiza. Playing for nights under the names of Audio Hussy, Hustle Up, Subtone showcase, Bloom and Rokit. He has played alongside the likes of Utah Saints, TheWideboys, Solano, Siytek, NGE, Senz, Cool Cut C, Adjected Deleted, Kid Afro, Rezonate and Robinson just to name a few.
